Weekend closure of Macdonald Bridge required for concrete work

The Macdonald Bridge will be closed from 7:00 pm Friday, November 12 until 5:30 am Monday, November 15 to complete vital concrete work on the Dartmouth side of the bridge.

The project effort requires jacking up a section of bridge away from the supporting pier that is being refurbished. Construction work will be carried out around the clock to complete the work over the weekend and ensure minimal disruption to traffic.

This is the final concrete rehabilitation effort that will require during the 2021 construction season.

HHB has been rehabilitating concrete piers on the approach spans of the Macdonald Bridge since 2013.

Sidewalks and the bikeway will be open.
